Biography
When asked, "Why do you travel and sing?" Daryl and Karen are quick to reply--"because we are called to this specific type of ministry." Eph. 4:11, 12 says . . . "and some are called to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists and some pastors and teachers for the equipping of the saints, for the work of the ministry." "When you are walking in that specific calling God has placed on your life, there is not only peace of mind but results are seen."Meet this talented trio from Nashville, Tennessee which consists of Daryl Williams, his wife Karen, and Shannon Knight.
Daryl Williams
Daryl Williams began singing, playing the piano and writing Gospel music at the age of seven. God began preparing his heart and talents at a very young age for a lifetime of music ministry. He grew up in San Jose and Sacramento, California. With a bachelors degree in music, Daryl's career began as a high school choir teacher, but his overwhelming desire to travel and minister music took him down another path. This young man has had the rare opportunity of being a member of two legendary family groups, The Blackwood Brothers and The Speer Family. Daryl never forgets to pay tribute to those who paved the way for him. He says, "I could never repay the Blackwoods and Speers for all they taught me." "It was an honor to stand beside them on stage." Daryl Says one of the biggest highlights of his career is appearing with his Gospel music heroes on the Bill Gaither Homecoming videos with the Speer Family and now his own trio.A prolific songwriter of over 1100 Gospel songs, Daryl's music has been taken all over the world through television, radio, the Billy Graham Crusades and the Gaither Homecoming series. Karen Williams
Karen, also from California, was raised in a pastor's home and began singing at the age of three. She says, "My dad would stand me on the altar at church, hand me a microphone, and I'd sing until someone would pry the microphone out of my hands."Daryl and Karen currently live just outside of Nashville TN, with their three children, Amanda, Lyndsey and Cason.
Shannon Knight
Shannon Knight, an extraordinary vocalist, and the newest member of the group is no stranger to gospel music. He has spent the past several years in music ministry traveling with such groups as Pure Gold. In April of 1997, Daryl and Karen were thrilled to add this very gifted singer from Guin, AL to their group. His rich baritone voice combined with his heart for ministry make Shannon a perfect compliment to the Daryl Williams Trio.
